- Union Berlin have lost only two of their 14 Bundesliga matches this season
- Both teams have scored in none of Wolfsburg’s last three games
- Union Berlin are unbeaten in their last four league contests
Union Berlin can keep European hopes alive
Union Berlin have become the surprise package in the Bundesliga this season, collecting 24 points from their 14 league assignments, and they played without fear in a draw with Bayern Munich and victory over Borussia Dortmund.
The winter break has done little to dampen their spirits – they returned from it with victory at Werder Bremen – and they can get the better of Wolfsburg, who drew on the road to Cologne and lost at Bayern Munich recently.
Wout Weghorst is a reliable goalscorer but Wolfsburg have struggled in the final third beyond the Dutch forward, netting only 20 times in the Bundesliga in 2020-21.
With that in mind, we advise backing Union Berlin to prevail and predict a low-scoring game so 2-0 could be the best correct scoreline prediction with the capital outfit conceding only nine goals in their seven home fixtures in the Bundesliga this season.
