- Tony Pulis has made the worst start of any Sheffield Wednesday manager
- No side has failed to score as often as Wednesday this season (10 in 19)
- Coventry have the seventh-best record across the last eight Championship rounds, Sheffield Wednesday have the worst
Problems mounting for Pulis
Tony Pulis made a bullish debut as Sheffield Wednesday manager, talking up a promotion charge and labelling them the biggest side in Sheffield. However, he’s failed to match the standards he set for himself in the early days of his reign.
Pulis has made the worst start of any Sheffield Wednesday boss in history, losing five of his first eight (D3). No side has fewer points than the Owls in the Championship during that period. Meanwhile, only four teams have conceded fewer goals than Wednesday since Pulis took charge.
That’s a real concern, given no team has blanked in more of their Championship games this season than Sheff Wed’s total of 10.
Sheffield Wednesday have lost four straight games, their worst run since 2012. Meanwhile, Coventry have arrived at the perfect time after going unbeaten in eight. The Sky Blues have impressed at the back in that time and only five sides have picked up more points during that time.
Given the form of both, we think that Coventry are well-priced to claim a result. We’re backing the Sky Blues Draw No Bet here, along with a narrow 1-0 for the visitors.
