Apprentices who study a mentor’s shaman class levels learns all shaman spells their mentor has currently prepared, adding them to their list of spells known for the day. The apprentice casts spells learned from a shaman mentor as divine spells. Spells cast this way use the apprentice’s Charisma regardless of what ability their mentor uses to modify their spells. This ability does not allow an apprentice to cast spell they cannot learn due to their Charisma score or level. Apprentices treat spells learned this way just as any other spontaneous spell caster would their spells known. Your caster level is equal to your apprentice level, and your save DCs and concentration checks are Charisma-based. You’re considered to have the shaman spell list for purposes of spell completion items and spell trigger items.
Advanced Mentorship Ability
Apprentices who study a mentor’s shaman class levels and chooses shaman for their advanced mentorship ability for the day gains the shaman‘s hex class feature. The apprentice gains one hex for every three apprentice levels he possesses. The apprentice must select hexes known by his mentor but may be wandering hexes his mentor has selected at the time of training. When determining the effects of an apprentice’s hexes, the apprentice’s effective witch level is equal to his apprentice level minus 3. The save DC and effects of an apprentice’s hexes are Charisma-based and not Wisdom-based.
Apprentices who study a mentor’s shaman class levels and chooses shaman for their cooperation power may spend a cooperation point as an immediate action when they or an ally uses a hex to increase the save DC of that hex by 2.
