Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has not demanded for a trade and has told the Seahawks that he wants to play for Seattle.

However, the 32-year old named four preferred teams if a trade would be considered. Those teams are the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, and Chicago Bears. That’s according to his agent Mark Rodgers who spoke to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday.

The 8-time Pro Bowl selection has been in the news in recent weeks after going out of his character to publicly air his grievances.

Wilson’s Frustrations

Earlier this month, Wilson voiced out his frustrations on his team’s inability to give him clean pocket protection. During a zoom interview with reporters, Wilson expressed his desire to be more involved with his team’s personnel decisions and said that he’s “frustrated about getting hit too much”.

Wilson was referring to the 394 sacks he has taken in his 144 regular season games played in Seattle. According to ESPN Stats and Info, that’s the most by any player during his first nine NFL seasons since the 1970 merger between the NFL and AFL, 28 more than Randall Cunningham, who is next to him on the list.

Wilson was sacked 47 times last season, ranking him 3rd overall in the league, behind Carson Went (50) and Deshaun Watson (49). He was sacked an additional five more times and pressured 50% on his dropbacks during the Seahawks wild card loss at home against the L.A Rams.

Seahawks 2021 Odds

The Seahawks only have the third best odds to win the NFC West at +275 at online sportsbook, behind the Los Angeles Rams (+175) and San Francisco 49ers (+200). Last season, Wilson ranked 9th in the league in passing yards at 4,212. He was also tied for 2nd in passing touchdowns with 40 and 8th in QBR at 73.5 Seattle finished the 2020 season with a 12-4 regular season record, their best mark since 2014 when they made it all the way to the Super Bowl, and were crowned as the NFC West Champions. However, they were upset by the Los Angeles Rams 30-20 in the wild card round.

Seattle has made the playoffs in five of the six seasons since they made back to back Super Bowl appearances in 2013 and 2014. However, they have never made it past the divisional round in all five instances, and have been eliminated in the wild card round twice including last season.
