- RB Leipzig have won four of their five competitive games this season.
- Istanbul Basaksehir have lost four of their last six matches without scoring.
- Three of these four defeats have been by 2-0 scorelines.
Baptism of fire for Turkish newcomers
RB Leipzig may have lost talismanic striker Timo Werner to Chelsea, but they have started the new campaign very impressively. Their 2-0 win at Augsburg on Saturday made it four wins and a draw from their opening five games, and they’re expected to start the Champions League campaign off with victory on Tuesday.
Istanbul Basaksehir are playing in the Champions League group stage for the first time in their history, but with PSG, Manchester United and RB Leipzig in their group their chances of progressing are very slim indeed.
It doesn’t help that the Turkish side have endured a rotten start to the season, picking up their first win at Trabzonspor on Saturday but failing to score in any of their four games prior to that.
Four of their last six competitive games have seen them lose without scoring, and with RB Leipzig winning their last two matches to nil we’re predicting another dismal day at the office for the visitors.
Three of Basaksehir’s last five games have ended in 2-0 defeats as well, while RB Leipzig have scored exactly two goals in four of their last seven Champions League ties, making a 2-0 correct score prediction our choice.
