Tough slate of matches today and tomorrow. The one Iβm eyeing today is World #76 Adam Hunt vs World #28 Jamie Hughes. Iβm taking the underdog Hunt in this one.
Yozza Hughes is a formidable opponent no doubt. He holds a 2-0 lifetime result and has amassed over $100k more in career earnings than the Hunter. He is also seven years older.
The Hunter averaged 94.29 in his first round victory over Lisa Ashton. More impressive though, was his >40% average on double outs. He also put together a solid performance at the most recent major, the PDC Grand Slam of darts, where he defeated Gabriel Clemens and advanced to the knockout stage over Joe Cullen. Heβs shown grit in these types of spots, especially this year. And I like the fact heβs snagged a win already this tournament.
Tough matchup, but I like the Hunter (+120) to pull the upset.
