NFL betting tips
PHI Eagles @ CLE Browns
The Philadelphia Eagles (3-5-1) head to the FirstEnergy Stadium to take on the Cleveland Browns (6-3) in the first leg of our NFL tips and they’ll be feeling low after a 27-17 loss to the New York Giants. That said, Carson Wentz comes off from one of his better games of the season (I know… a 10 point loss!). The Eagles aren’t unlucky, they’re just not great so I expect the Browns to take it here, but covering Eagles just in case they pull it off out of nowhere…!
Pick: Browns 1-6, 7-12. Eagles 1-6.
PIT Steelers @ JAX Jaguars
When the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-0) play at the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8) on Sunday, two of the league’s most productive rookies will be in action. Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool leads all rookies and is tied for fifth in the NFL with nine touchdowns. Meanwhile, Jaguars running back James Robinson leads all rookies and ranks fourth in the NFL with 917 scrimmage yards (689 rushing, 228 receiving). Whilst the defense at Jaguars has been a huge improvement since their week 8 bye, their offense is undeniably worse. Expect to see the Steelers continue their undefeated streak.
Pick: Steelers 7-12, 13-18
ATL Falcons @ NO Saints
The Atlanta Falcons (3-6) head to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to take on the New Orleans Saints (7-2), and they should be feeling rested after their bye week. They should also go into this game with the confidence that they won 4 of their 5 past games, having an overall lead of 52-49. That said the Saints come off a high having won against San Francisco last week. Looking at the match-up I truly feel it could go either way just because there are lingering injuries on both sides. It’ll be a close game for sure.
Pick: Saints 1-6. Falcons 1-6
DAL Cowboys @ MIN Vikings
The Dallas Cowboys (2-7) feeling rested after a bye week head to US Bank Stadium to take on the Minnesota Vikings (4-5). The Cowboys have won two of their past three games, but the all-time series is tied at 12-12. We know the Cowboys have their struggles, and they took a loss in their previous game. That said, their defense played its best two games this season before their week 10 bye. Whilst I expect them to perform well, rather than be a total blow-out, you can’t deny the quality the Vikings bring. Expect them to enjoy another victorious week.
Vikings: 1-6, 7-12
GB Packers @ IND Colts
The Green Bay Packers (7-2), one of two NFC teams with seven wins this season, are at the AFC South-leading Indianapolis Colts (6-3) on Sunday. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who leads qualified NFL passers with a 116.4 rating this season, takes the Packers into Indianapolis on Sunday. Green Bay ranks sixth in the NFL with 395.8 yards per game and third in the league with 30.8 points per contest. The Colts, meanwhile, have allowed the league’s fewest yards per game (290.4) and fourth-fewest points per game (19.7). Looking at the match-up, this might just be the toughest defense A-Rod has faced since their loss against the Buccaneers, and I’d say it depends on the health and status of their starting CBs too. If they’re healthy, Green Bay will take it.
Pick: Packers 1-6
KC Chiefs @ LV Raiders
The Kansas City Chiefs (8-1) are at the Las Vegas Raiders (6-3) on Sunday Night Football. Over their last 18 games, including postseason, the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs have one loss: Earlier this season at home to the Raiders, in Week 5. The teams own two of the six longest active winning streaks in the NFL. Kansas City has won four straight, while the Raiders are undefeated in their last three. This aside and looking at the match-up – both are impacted by COVID-19 protocols, so could each be without key players. Overall though, I expect the Chiefs to get the victory here.
Pick: Chiefs 7-12
LA Rams @ TB Buccaneers
In a battle of two of the NFL’s top defenses, the Los Angeles Rams (6-3) travel to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3) on Monday Night Football. The game sees two of the league’s top defenses in action. The Rams rank second in both total yards allowed per game (296.4) and points allowed per game (18.7). Tampa Bay ranks third in the league with 300.3 total yards allowed per game and is tied with Pittsburgh for the NFL lead with 17 takeaways. Whilst I’ve no doubt Aaron Donald will make life difficult on Tom Brady, I expect we’ll see the Bucs taking the victory here.
Pick: Bucs 1-6
