College Football DFS: Ole Miss-LSU Could Be a Barnburner

It’s conference championship week, finally, but it won’t look anything like normal. On top of it being two weeks later than usual, we will see our share of makeup games from previously scheduled contests delayed due to the pandemic. DraftKings offers a 10-game slate for the day games, with several likely competitive contests among the lot, including Ole Miss-LSU and Florida State-Wake Forest.

Consider these players for your lineups:

Quarterbacks

Jordan Travis, Florida State ($7,200 on DraftKings, $9,100 on FanDuel) – I love the rushing upside of Travis in the likely shootout with Wake Forest. Travis has eclipsed 90 yards on the ground three times this season and has averaged more than 20 DFS points per game on DraftKings.

Max Johnson, LSU ($6,800 on DK, $8,900 on FD) – After leading the Tigers to a shocking upset of Florida in his first start, Johnson will unsurprisingly start again in the regular season finale against Ole Miss. Last week the freshman completed 21 of 36 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns, numbers he could easily eclipse against the porous Rebels defense.

Running backs

Ty Jordan, Utah ($7,000 on DK, $8,800 on FD) – The freshman is powering the Utes offense, averaging 110 yards per game on the ground while also catching a sprinkling of passes. He also averages more than 21 DFS points per game on DraftKings, despite getting just seven carries in the opener against USC.

Lawrance Toafill, Florida State ($4,200 on DK, $6,000 on FD) – Although Jashaun Corbin remains the starter, Toafill could be a sneaky value play this week. He is averaging an incredible 10 yards per carry this year (on 36 carries), earning him increased reps.

Wide receivers

Khalil Shakir, Boise State ($8,200 on DK, $9,400 on FD) – The Broncos receiver dominates the share of catches on the team, averaging nearly eight per game. He has also eclipsed 100 yards receiving four times in six games this year, with six TD catches. He should see plenty of looks against San Jose State on Saturday.

Dontario Drummond, Ole Miss ($4,400 on DK, $7,500 on FD) – This may be the easiest plug-and-play on the slate, and I’ll put Drummond in nearly all of my lineups this week. Both Ernie Moore and Kenny Yeobah, the top two receivers for Ole Miss, announced via Twitter on Thursday they would enter the 2012 NFL Draft. The receiver with the third most catches on the team? You guessed it, Drummond. A double stack of Drummond and fellow receiver Braylon Sanders, paired with quarterback Matt Corral, wouldn’t be the worst idea, given Vegas expectations that the Rebels will be among the highest-scoring teams on the slate.
