- Man City have already beaten Burnley twice this season, scoring eight goals in the process.

Burnley braced for Citizens test
League leaders Manchester City are threatening to disappear over the horizon and the Citizens look favourites to trample all over Burnley for the third time this season when the teams face off at Turf Moor.
The Clarets looked a little leggy when chasing Chelsea’s shadows in their last outing, and Sean Dyche’s men mustered just one attempt at Stamford Bridge in 2-0 reverse where they saw just 28% of the ball.
Surprise back-to-back wins over Liverpool and Aston Villa before their tip to Chelsea meant that their loss to the Blues wasn’t quite as critical as it might have been however, and the Clarets have a comfortable eight-point buffer between them and the drop zone ahead of their latest tough test on Wednesday.
City keep the wins coming
Man City dug out a 1-0 victory from an awkward clash with a rejuvenated Sheffield United outfit on Saturday – pushing their winning streak to a remarkable 12 games in all competitions in the process.
In the Premier League, Pep Guardiola’s title favourites have won an impressive eight matches on the bounce, securing clean sheets in all but one of those fixtures during their surge to the division’s summit.
City to overpower Burnley again
Not many teams pull Burnley’s defence apart, however, Man City have shown twice already this season, that they have the technique to tear holes in the Clarets’ rearguard.
The Citizens knocked Burnley out of the Carabao Cup earlier in the campaign with a routine 3-0 win at Turf Moor, before they eviscerated Sean Dyche’s side 5-0 in the league at the end of November.
That mauling was the fifth time in seven encounters with Burnley since 2018 where City scored four or more goals, and having run up cricket scores against the Clarets on numerous occasions in recent seasons, the in-form table toppers are worth backing in the over 2.5 team goals market again on Wednesday.
Our 3-0 correct score prediction also backs Guardiola’s serial winners to match the result from their cup tie at Turf Moor back in September. With seven clean sheets in their last eight Premier League assignments, City’s defensive performances have been exemplary, and another shutout looks possible in Lancashire.
