BetMGM, PointsBet Launch Online Sportsbooks In Iowa

  • BetMGM and PointsBet launched mobile sportsbooks in Iowa.
  • Through MGM Resorts, Iowa players can earn rewards for complimentary hotels and dinners while using the BetMGM mobile app.
  • Both apps are available to download and their websites are accessible by Iowa sports bettors.

DES MOINES, Iowa – Sports bettors now have two new ways to get in on the action following the launch of both BetMGM and PointsBet mobile sportsbooks in Iowa.

Both sportsbooks are leaders in the US sports betting market, bringing best in class options to sports bettors in the Hawkeye State.

The legal Iowa sports betting market has been one of the bigger markets since its launch. Adding BetMGM and PointsBet should only further boost its position as a national leader.

MGM Launches With Rewards In Mind

Starting with BetMGM, the mobile sportsbook will allow local Iowa bettors to earn rewards points for MGM Resorts. This means by simply using the app, sports bettors can earn free hotel stays, dinners at major restaurants, and concert tickets.

This is one of the biggest perks for Iowa bettors, alongside the many sports betting options available at BetMGM. The mobile sportsbook has a long history of supplying some of the best odds all year round.

“I can’t think of a better way to kick off the new year than by launching BetMGM in Iowa, a state well known for its passionate sports fans,” said Adam Greenblatt, CEO of BetMGM. “Our connection with MGM Resorts enables BetMGM users in the Hawkeye State to earn rewards, from hotel suites to dinners at award-winning restaurants, all while engaging in the excitement of our cutting-edge sports betting experience.”

The way the promotion works is M Life Rewards members will be able to curate points while betting on the mobile app the same way they would by playing casino games at the MGM Resorts.

The rewards are not limited to MGM Resorts in Iowa either, as M Life Rewards sports bettors are able to use the rewards collected at any MGM Resorts properties nationwide. This includes Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Borgata in New Jersey, Beau Rivage in Mississippi, and MGM National Harbor in Maryland.

PointsBet Scores New State

PointsBet also offers a slew of options for Iowa sports bettors. This includes free bets for first-time players as well as promotions during major sporting events including the Super Bowl.

PointsBet sportsbook has operated at the Catfish Bend Casino for a while, but the mobile betting app is officially available to sports bettors in the Hawkeye State.

Sports bettors can now register remotely for both legal sports betting platforms now that the in-person mandate has ended. However, users of these sites will still need to be located within the state of Iowa to place bets.
