Sportsbooks are now open at the five Kewadin casinos, it was announced on the Kewadin Hotel and Convention Center Facebook page yesterday.
Partnering with WynnBET, the five casinos are offering sports betting kiosks at all five properties.
“The Kewadin Casinos Sportsbook, a proud partner of WynnBET, is now open at all five locations,” the post read. “Think your team has what it takes, or secretly know they don’t, stop by and place your bets.”
The Facebook post went on to say the kiosks are “contactless.”
Eight spots to wager
According to the Kewadin Sportsbook website, the kiosks are located at the Rapids Lounge and Superior Bar at the Sault Ste. Marie property, at the Whitetail Sports Bar at St. Ignace, at the Team Spirit Bar at Manistique, at Frosty Pub ‘n’ Grub at Christmas, and at the bar area in Hessel.
Cash and winning tickets are the only form of payment accepted at the kiosks.
Available sports to wager on, according to the website, include auto racing, baseball, basketball, boxing/MMA, football, golf, hockey, and soccer.
In total, there are eight sports betting kiosks spread among the five casinos, and the maximum payout for any single bet is $5,000, except for the Super Bowl, where the limit has been raised to $10,000.
The opening of the sportsbooks at the Kewadin casinos comes a few weeks before online sports betting is expected to roll out in Michigan.
The Kewadin casinos have remained open during the second wave of government shutdowns related to the coronavirus. As a tribal operator, they are not subject to state mandates.
